My boys… their first year in T-ball

April 24, 2010

My boys are in their first year of T-ball. the first few practices were pure torture. Because while they had watched their big brother and sister play ball, they didn’t really get it yet and the first few practices they were bored, and didn’t want to stay on the field, wanted to play in the dirt ect. The first game was also torture. They loved hitting the ball but didn’t want to play the ” boring” outfield. I had to bribe them with hotdogs. The second game, Patrick had finally gotten it and played the outfield fantastically! I see alot of his older brother in his baseball playing. Wyatt however at the second game chose to wander around the outfield with the ball glove on his head as a hat, and his hand behind his back. But just like the coach said… he stayed out for the whole game and that in itself for my newly turned 4 year old was a feat in itself.! Today my Patrick fielded the ball and got it to first base before the runner got there, I was SO excited. He has even realized that baseball is NOT a full contact sport and he can’t tackle his team mates when they have the ball.Wyatt is even playing better. These are the boys after they hit the ball and are running to first base. I took them with my Canon Rebel and use picnik to edit them and crop them and make them a bit brighter.

Baseball Season …….

Softball RULES!

We are into Jadyn’s 4th year of baseball with Charles Town/Ranson Little  League. She started with T-ball on the boys teams, and then was moved up to machine pitch where she kicked some tail! her coach told us then that she had the potential to be a highschool standout. Last year we moved her to the girls softball league through the same little league and she did awesome. This year she is on the same team. {although I am not digging the uniforms this year. Last year they had AWESOME tank top jersey’s. this year in order to cut costs they did tshirts… not as nice but hey- who am I to complain.} she had a rough start to the season,  had surgery 10 days before opening day and had a HARD recovery. however, opening day she pulled it out, SLAMMED the ball, played awesome and won the game ball! which is huge for any game but on opening day its FANTASTIC! so here is my girl and I right before opening day ceremonies. I didn’t do anything to this pic and it was taken on my Canon Rebel, which I SO need to learn the different settings on.

First Thunderstorm of the Season

April 24, 2010

First Thunderstorm of the Season

So last week we had our first Thunderstorm of the Spring/Summer season. I personally will admit to you that I am terrified of thunderstorms. Growing up whenever we would have Tornado Watches I would be convinced that no matter what we would get a Tornado. CONVINCED. Even now, I have a rubbermaid container in the basement behind the water heater in the alcove where there is enough space for everyone should we get a tornado- full of supplies, flashlights, weather radio, candles, can opener, canned food, water ect. The hubster says I am paranoid, I say I am prepared. As much as they terrify me, they also fascinate me. I can remember vividly the time when Jadyn was a year old we watched a Tornado form a mere 500 feet from us and I was both scared and awestruck at the same time. I like to watch the clouds form and I love the smell of thunderstorms and rain.

ummmm ok……

A work in progress…

January 24, 2010

I have been DYING to have my kitchen repainted forever! its the same blah white it was when we moved in- with some Americana decorations thrown in and lots of handme down furniture from when we first started out- nothing wrong with that- but we in the last year have started purchasing our OWN furniture and accessories. The hubster has been dying to do SOMETHING in black and red forever. I found a really pretty red and black border with coffee cups for my kitchen and we decided to do the colors of the border in my kitchen. black below the chair rail and the burgendy above it.   this is our work in progress. first coat only- I was alittle taken aback with the streaks of the red but he assures me that Red is very unforgiving and about 3 coats will make it all look blended in and fine. as long as he is sure….. this was taken on my blackberry.

my little Indian boy……

January 24, 2010

This is a picture that I took last year in Wisconsin  at the Honor  The Earth Pow-wow in Hayward, Wisconsin, I added some touch ups today and am thinking about entering it in a photo contest.  Patrick had decided about a week before our trip that he wanted a MoHawk  and with his traditional regalia and his mowhawk he fit right in! not that they don’t anyway with their Indian features and dark  skin!  Let me know what you think!

This is the wall art above my kitchen table on the top of the wall. we are getting ready to repaint so this will be gone, I will have to redo it. I am a bit sad. but this is my motto……

My heart….

January 18, 2010

This little guy is my heart. the hubster says he doesn’t know where my ass ends and P’s head begins. He is my mamma’sboy through and through. I attribute it to him coming to us at 31 weeks and me spending night and day in the NICU- and his over 10 hospital stays in his short 5 years in which I am always the parent that stays with him. Who knows WHY he is a mamma’s boy- but I love it. L.O.V.E. it.  I am a firm believer that every daddy should have a daddy’s girl and every mommy should have a mamma’s boy.  thats how it is in our house. Except for Wyatt- he goes with whoever the mood hits him  for the day~! So for today- here is my mamma’s boy.

catching up….

January 10, 2010

I have been a bit sad this week, and a bit crazed. In addition to work, and Wyatt’s first day of school it was also my baby girl’s 8th birthday. My oldest child. I can remember the NANO SECOND she was born, and every detail of her birth. I can tell you every detail of my pregnancy- I remember with vivid detail when she was admitted to the hospital at 3 weeks old with bacterial pneumonia, respiratory failure and a collapsed lung- I remember going to the cafeteria for an hr after the nurses made me go eat and coming back to hear machine’s beeping, her saturati0n  level dropping and the talk of “flying her out”. I still have the note that one kind nurse hung on her tent when I had taken a break that said “mom, I ate 3 ounces I love you” I can tell you every detail of her first Christmas, spent in the hospital with pneumonia and her first experience with Santa was in that hospital. Pre-k was not hard for me to send her to, Kindergarten was kind of hard. First grade was a breeze. Second grade… well I had a hard time.  it was like realizing that my little girl was growing up. Right. In. Front. Of. Me. and its not fair. soon it will be more important to be with her friends than to snuggle me, boys will become a priority and all too soon she will be graduating and heading to college. All. too. soon.

So for her 8th birthday we did a bowling party- and she had a blast. Told me it was the Best. Birthday. EVER. What more could I ask for ????
